My vision

‘Timeless’ represents both the freedom of timeless creativity, as well the

restrictions that our over-stimulated Western society can place upon people with such

heavy influences on time, objectives and scheduling. Through my pieces, I convey the

beauty of the creative practice that is free from time objectives or pressure. I am

inspired by the ancient Taoist philosophy of ‘wu wei’, which means, “to embrace flow

rather than effort to achieve a result.” I believe in the beneficial nature that these

timeless, spontaneous and non-forceful ways could have for the artist and society as a whole. When we are constantly searching for an objective, the creative process is disrupted. When we reach the state of timeless, we find the language that says:

“forget what you think you know and embody everything you are”.

The great artist Michelangelo, would say that the sculptures he created were already in the marble, and it was just his job to find them. I hope to inspire both the artistic soul and the wider community of the capacity we have to let the creative process find us, rather than chase it under the constraints of time and pressure. My free-styled, abstract art pieces strive to convey this.
