Max Rickards

Max Rickards is a contemporary artist based in Melbourne, exploring practices of painting, sculpture and design. He is mostly inspired by bright colours and rhythmic forms that showcase a fluid spontaneous style.

History - Exhibitions - Publications

History

2019 - Max begun designing skateboards and surfboards using colorful resin.

2021 - His experience in boat building led to working with epoxy resin as a sculptural fine art form.

2022 - Rickards utilized New Zealand’s largest 3D resin printer to create a sculptural form so delicate, so daring. The printing technicians were doubtful, yet the project succeeded. This grew his curiosity for computer design and new technologies.

2023 - Max approaches furniture projects like large scale sculptures.

2024/2025 - Pursued formal Fine Art and Design studies in his home country, New Zealand.
